Alouette II (SE 3130)
The first aircraft of the Bundeswehr propelled by a turbine was the Alouette II in 1959. 247 helicopters were ordered. More than 1,300 helicopters of this type were produced, and they were in use in 46 countries. In June 1958, an Alouette II set a world altitude record of 10,984 m (36,037 ft).
