Saunders-Roe Skeeter



First flight 8 October, 1948. Initially designed as W.14 by Cierva Autogiro Co. Ltd. In 1951 Saunders-Roe acquired the interests of this company. 88 Skeeters were built, 10 of them were delivered to the Bundeswehr from 1958 and used as multi-purpose helicopters (Mk.50/51). The displayed helicopter was donated to the Hubschraubermuseum by the British Army Aviation.

Replica of first flying helicopter in the museum
On September 12 a full sized replica of the first flying helicopter was installed in the museum.
