A group of 14 disabled people from the Educational and Leisure Center Osnabrück had registered to visit our museum with a guided tour on March 22, 2025. Expectations were high, and the question for me was how to handle it?
After the greeting, there was already a cheerful mood among the visitors, all curious to see what awaited them.
Despite their disabilities, they were very eager to learn and asked many questions. I tried to explain and answer everything as simply as possible, and I was quite amazed that one visitor could answer almost all of my questions and explanations... he had already read and flipped through his helicopter book around 20 times or more.
Slowly, we moved to the "Goodbye Huey" (UH-1D) area, and everyone got a chance to sit in the helicopter or the cockpit, which brought them great joy. Even once stepping into the cockpit of the TIGER was the lifelong dream of a disabled girl.
Many thanks to the four volunteer caregivers, who were very happy with their charges that the visit went so well.
